    New Diagnosis

My story is very unique (or maybe not?). My doc calls me a complex case.
2 MRI's 6 months apart shows new lesions
    LP is negative for Obands
He has dx me with MS and prescribed Aubagio
    I have the numbness/tingling in my legs/feet.
Failed SSEP on my legs, but ok on my arms.

    Anyone been diagnosed without Obands?

    Hi Melody,

I'm not sure about "unique", but my Dx has some overlap.

Mri's 6 months apart. The first showing what doc called a "mono-phasic" condition (a potential lesion that should be checked again in 6 months). Fast forward to 2nd Mri... yes it is a lesion and... drum roll... a few others!

    LP is negative for Obands.

I described my feet as "sporadic spongy." Unable to snap my fingers.

And of course the reason I was there in the first place, drop foot.

So... diagnosed without Obands, as having RRMS and put on C.

2 years ago got a proper dx of progressive MS. No current DMD. Somehow I feel free at last.

      Jer, Thanks for the reply!

I feel relieved (?) that I am no longer in limbo, but can have a plan of action.

I have nurse friend and she said that its funny because out of all the people she knows with MS, they are all type A personalities.

Well, not all of us are type A people, I never have been. I was diagnosed at the age of 23/24 with symptoms that go back to childhood. I received a clinical diagnosis based on a positive LP (o-bands), Neurological exam/evaluation and symptoms. All other testing done was negative. My symptoms at the time of diagnosis:

        - Numb from the waist down
        - Barely able to walk
        - Vibrations/buzzing waist down
        - Pins/needles waist down
        - hand tremors
        - Extreme fatigue
        - Lhermitte's sign
        Diagnosed 1984

Glad you finally got answers! Still working on mine. I was supposed to get a second MRI but it hasn't cleared insurance. Did you have new symptoms come up in the 6 months? One doctor tells me that 6 months is too soon for a repeat MRI and the other doctor has ordered a repeat.

No new symptoms, but there was change in my brain from Nov. to May MRI's. More lesions and they found 2 in new areas of the brain.
