    Urinary incontinence while traveling

I'm going to be taking a 3week trip in August. My bladder isn't as good as it used to be. If I use bladder pads/Depends for the airplane or other times I might not be near an accessible bathroom, what's best to use? I also have vulvadynia, so I'm worried about dampness causing irritation. Oh it used to be much easier to travel!

I don't have good advice about bladder pads or Depends; hopefully someone will come along who does.

One thing that works for my overactive bladder, at night, is supplements. A magnesium / calcium supplement is usually enough. When it is not, I also take Uva Ursa. Both of these might be available at your local health food store. Another option is to look for them at amazon.com . I just take the recommended dose on the bottle.

My MS Specialist says that some patients like to use the med Oxybutynin for overactive bladder. You could ask your doc about that, but I've found the supplements to be more effective for me.

Thanks for the tips. Are these good for slight leakage or more for moderate or heavy incontinence?

They are for overnight so they are for heavy. I just learn You can also get adult plastic pants to go over the them.

I hope you have good luck with what ever you chose.

What is Uva Ursa? What is it supposed to help?
            Peace to all,

I sort of forgot to get back to you. Uva Ursi can be used for urinary tract problems. Is supposed to be able to treat UTI's instead of anti-biotics, even, although I haven't tried it for that. It also helped me for urinary fx.

I believe that it is not meant to be taken long-term.

                This is from WebMD:

Thanks for all the helpful ideas. It's a problem I wish I didn't have, but I sure know where to turn for answers.
