    Employer health benefits while on STD/LTD

    When you go on STD and LTD, am I correct that you get health benefits through STD (26 weeks)?

    And when does it stop when you move to LTD?

    Reviewing my company's policy they state your benefit contributions will be taken out of your disability payments but you will still receive while you are an employee.

    Thanks for any feedback.

    You really need to review your employer benefits. Mine were covered partially, but after 24 months, they no longer had to save my job and could terminate me, therefore, end benefits. Additionally, the benefits covered while on LTD varied. Some were suspended on LTD (life insurance and 401k), others, I had a higher copay as my employer didn't pay their portion (like healthcare).

    My advice is to read carefully and confirm your understanding with your human resource department/benefit specialist.
