I checked the social security site and saw that my application has been approved. Your claim for Disability benefits has been approved. But reading further on it says: Our records show that an application for benefits has been filed. However, we have not yet finished working on the claim and at this time we cannot tell you whether or not benefits will be payable.

They approved my for benefits were approved but they might not be payable?

Just a bit confused (as usual lol)

Could they mean approved for review, that is is complete. Or possibly that they approved it, but haven't completed the financial analysis, as to how much, and if any back award?

That is really weird. Do you have a contact? I would call for clarification.

If you are eligible, not sure why it would not be payable.

I knew how much I was eligible for by looking at my annual Social Security Statement under:
      -- "Your Estimated Benefits"
--- "Disability" > showed my $$ "a month" that matched what they awarded me

I did get a retro-payment back to my disability date that they calculated separately.

So congratulations with the positive thoughts that this will work out fine for you!
