    Social Security and Medicare

I understand that the benefit you receive each month is actually a benefit from the prior month. For example, a benefit payment this month (January 2018) is actually the benefit from December 2017.
If Medicare premiums are deducted from your monthly benefit, what month has been paid for your Medicare premium? Was the December premium deducted in the January payment (which is the December 2017 payment) just received? Or is the premium deduction for this month January 2018? I searched the internet and couldn't find the answer. Speaking to Social Security hasn't helped me at all.

My Jan payment which was for Dec included the medical deduction that was in my 2018 annual SSA premium letter.
There was a change in the medical amount and so I assume it was for my 2018 medical benefits.

      Thank You

It seems they make it a bit complicated. No one from SSA could answer the question. I've received different answers to the some questions from the SSA staff.
