    New Diagnosis

I recently had a brain MRI with and without contrast it showed scattered lesions in the periventricular, I’ve had numbness/tingling, fatigue, dizziness, urinanary issues and visual difficulties for a while now, I saw a neurologist who ordered a scan of my eye and a LP. I’m scared?? Do I have MS??

      Thanks Craig,
I’m trying to take everything in stride but dang it’s hard.

Ive had nerve conduction test that were negative and I’m told that points toward MS, LP is next. I’m anxious for answers so I can feel like me even if I have to tweak that person.

Hi Bellarosso and welcome to MSWorld

Your neuro will be able to get a better picture of what's going on, and determine the cause of your symptoms, after all of your test results are in.

Waiting for results can lead to anxiety and fear, and most of us can certainly relate to what you're going through. It's not a very pleasant place to be in, to say the least.

Good luck with your eye scan and LP. Let us know what you find out. We'll be here!

If you have any questions, just ask and we'll be glad to help, if we can.

The eye scan was negative but the visual issues are still there, I’m scheduled for my LP this week.

The staff at the Neuro indicated the results are all normal for having MS and that the Dr. believes that’s the case as well.

          Thank you for you kindness.

If I understand correctly, your Neuro and the staff do believe that your test results are suggestive of MS. The remaining test to possibly confirm the diagnosis of MS is the LP, is that right?

Thank you, I really appreciate it. This journey is stressful and hard to handle. As crazy as it stands a diagnosis of MS at least means I’m not crazy.

Hi Bellarosso and welcome! This is exactly what I thought when I finally got my dx. Especially since my pre-dx Dr. told me I was having a nervous breakdown and was in hysterics. Got many labels before the affirmative answer. I wish you luck through this process. We are here for you.

Thank you! I’m so sorry you had to deal with that. I felt so dismissed and defeated prior to seeing the neurologist, I know there’s no cure but a diagnosis allows for adjustments in my life and treatment.
