    new here!

i have had so many weird symptoms. starting when i was 7 or 8, i would get spells of vertigo that no one could explain. at 13 i had my first visual symptom. it was a dark spot when i looked up. i thought i was seeing things but it turns out that i wasn't seeing things- it was a blind spot. through all this my mother and the bunch of docs and therapists she insisted i see were telling me not to tell anyone that i am seeing things or they will lock me away. i went to college a year early and really was not ready for it.

i had balance issues, fatigue issues, concentration issues and by now a lot of depression thinking that i am so screwed up. finally, on my 25th birthday, i was diagnosed with ms by a family practice doc. i had seen neurologists and they missed it. 4 months later i saw a specialist in ms and he diagnosed me chronic primary progressive. he died 6 months later. one of the kindest men i ever met. i live with my partner of 18 years, kevin. i am very lucky because he takes care of me where i can't. we built our house after i was diagnosed, so we had a ranch home built. there is another woman in the house. our cat ally. she is kevin's shadow and i believe true partner lol. daily life is dealing with problems caused by ms. my biggest problems are autonomic disreflexia and constipation. that's me. i'm here. that's all i know right now.

    Hello joannaepstein

    Welcome to MSWorld!

Glad for you that you have a wonderful partner, and a ranch house too. These are surely making life with MS at least a little bit more tolerable.

        Welcome Joanna,

Glad you found us. Sounds like you have been diagnosed a while, but symptomatic a lot longer. Glad you have a supportive partner. Understand about the cat. We have a dog, but when my husband is around,. He ditches me and is his shadow!

Look forward to seeing more posts!
