FDA Approes Generic 20mg AND 40MG

Just read that the FDA has approved a generic version of both Copaxone 20mg and Copaxone 40mg. I thought the generic for 20mg was approved a while ago. I switched to the 40mg prior to the 20mg approval.
I'm a bit concerned. Is this good or bad for those of us using Copaxone? The insurance companies will insist we change.........

So I just requested a refill on my Copaxone 40 mg

with my specialty pharmacy (CVS). I was asked if I wanted to change to the new generic Copaxone 40mg. Anyone else been asked that question?

Thanks for the heads-up. I am a Copaxone 40 user. I hadn't heard about the generic version for Copaxone 40 so I did some research.

        https://www.nationalmssociety.org/Ab...axone%C2%AE-(G

This NMSS article indicates that Mylan's generic form of Copaxone 20 is the second approved generic for glatiramer acetate 20mg' it was approved in October 2017. The first became available in 2015.

They have also approved the first generic form of Copaxone 40.

The article also says that there is no information, yet, about when this will become available or how much it will cost.

My plan, likely, will be to wait until my next appointment with my MS Specialist, which is scheduled for February, and ask for her counsel and advice.
