    Exercise Check-In for 8/17/2017

Five people checked in this week.

    GOALS REACHED:
Four of us made our goals. And one made a partial goal

    GOALS MISSED:
None of us didn't make any goals.

    OTHER:
    --

    Exercise Tip:
I don't always feel motivated to look for exercise tips. Feel free to add one, if you wish. Pats on the back if you changed your goal to something that you decided is more appropriate for you. An appropriate goal can motivate you to keep trying.

    For new Exercisers:
Feel free to join us. You set your own goals. You can keep the same goals week-to-week, or modify them. You decide if you accomplished them. Check in once a week to let us know how you did last week, and to set goals for the following week.

    Made one goal.

    Goal was:
    One or both:
    1. Walk 3,000 steps or more 3 or more times per week, or average 2200 steps per day.
    2. Exercise 2 times this week. Could be an exercise class or WiiFit or something else.

Exercised twice (sort of); did not walk enough steps.

    Steps plus exercise:
    Th- 1800

    F - 1350
    S - 1759; a few hip exercises
    S - 2343
    Mon - 1003; a few hip exercises
    Tue - 1612
    W - 2365; Silver Sneakers class
Total: 12,232 steps. Average: 1747 steps per day

Still dealing with sprained toe. I have it taped to the next toe, as a splint. It's harder to walk and to exercise, especially in shoes. It's been four weeks; it might take six weeks to heal. But, it's feeling better than last week. But, I think that is becoming an excuse. I could do more. I'm of habit of pushing/motivating myself to do more.

I was at my MS specialist appointment a week or so ago. I've lost some strength in my right hip since my last visit. I did a few strengthening exercises (very few) this week. Will try to do more next week.

I made all goals this week .

Walked over 3000 steps on 5 days averaging 3334 steps / day.
I performed PT 3 days this week, shopped 1 day and even rode the bike or 5 min one day .

The coming week is going to be busy with doctor appointments, so it will be harder to work in everything that I did this week, but I am going to keep the same goal.

Faith - You said "Still dealing with sprained toe. I have it taped to the next toe, as a splint. It's harder to walk and to exercise, especially in shoes. Instead of looking at the large number of 3000 steps/day why not adjust your goal until your toe heals? You could (probably) do 1800 steps/day with a little push. In my experience success breeds success. and so you could increase you goal weekly until you reach the goal you can be happy with.
in any event you are doing great! Keep pushing.

Congrats to all who are striving to move more .

        Hello everyone

I made my goal of exercising 3 days, plus a little more. I rode bike for 30mins 1 day, swept floors 2 days, mopped floors 2 days, cleaned 2 bathrooms, did laundry and packed for long wk end camping trip. Needless to say I have pushed myself. Can't believe I did so much.

Mamabug, you had a great wk. considering having a sprained toe. I'm glad it is feeling a little better.

        Good job msgijo.

I hope everyone had a good wk.

        Lets keep moving!

Hey REG - would you come over and clean my house too? With all the gardening, harvesting and canning I did last week, my house is neglected and needs help!

I made my goal with an adjustment - my yoga teacher went out of town, so there was no class. Instead I did extra yoga poses at home 3x.

          My goal for next week:
          Continue with the arm exercises
Garden 2x (includes indoor canning or freezing if any)
          Yoga

          Extra Goal:
Clean parts of my house! (maybe just a pipe dream?)

            Made Goal +

            Hi everyone

Made goal of walk/stand with rollator for 30 min, 3X a day, every day, and daily stretches.

Glad to report that I did (4) extra 30 min walk/stand activities (up on my feet for 30 consecutive minutes) during the week.

I keep a daily log, and when I looked at it today, I was pleasantly surprised. I knew I did extra, but didn't realize I did extra on (4) days!

After reading everyone's posts, looks like I wasn't the only one who surpassed goals!

May we all have the strength to persist.

Thankfully I Met all of mu goals.

I made a mistake. I was reviewing my goals which I have not listed for several months, actually since we first started. It disappeared so I fear it went through with no explanation. Or it just disappeared into the never never land. Sorry about this.

It is invigorating to read all of the exercises people are doing. I congratulate you all for your efforts. Blessings, Karen

                  Hi All.
Have been away at our farm for almost 3 months.
Have missed posting and hope in some small way my absence was noticed.
I have been doing as i planned and pushing my self to be as physical as possible.
Old goal- to open a jar myself - pasta sauce- done...
Trouble is i'm paying for my efforts with a fair amount of pain and to be honest i'm sometimes to tired to even eat.
At the moment i can't seem to sleep because i can hear my heart beating in my ears and tinitis is also bothering me.
have taken all my usual meds and these usually help with sleep and as well pain pills - but been in bed since 7pm and is 1am and i'm still awake.
so thought i'd check you guys out on my lap top.
I have really been over doing it in order to helpmy husband put in a dam before it is both too hot as well as wet.
He has gone home for work today so i'm staying here to continue on.
What we have achieved is rewarding as well as the improve ment in my physical abilities but i am really struggling with the effort and many times have just wanted to collapse and cry.

It was nice to read everyones posts and i really hope you are all doing well.

                    Well, that's not so good.

Good luck with your rewarding project, but don't forget to take care of yourself in the process.
