Ocrevus Education video, independenlty recorded by Cleveland Clinic Mellen Center

Many of you might appreciate the video below about Ocrevus/Ocrelizumab by Claire Hara-Cleaver, CNP and Dr. Robert Bermel, MD of the Cleveland Clinic Mellen Center for MS Treatment and Research.

Scroll down to the featured video on the lower right of the web page below entitled "Mellen Center Doctors discuss a new medication for Multiple Sclerosis." (Over time, this video will likely be on a different part of the Cleveland Clinic website, but right now, as of 4/5/17, it's on the link below.)

One more comment about my experience with Cleveland Clinic:
I've been to the Cleveland Clinic for a few second opinions and for successful treatment of my bladder problems. In my experience, there are many MS Specialists and other experts at this Comprehensive Center, and the Docs and support health care professionals were excellent in all respects.
Doctors are on a set salary, and this is very good. They take a wide array of insurance.
For me, Cleveland Clinic has been excellent, and I recommend investigating this option if you think this might help you in your MS Journey.

        Hi Alan

I agree with your comments on the Mellen Center. I went there a couple of times too, for a second opinion regarding my PPMS dx, and later for a follow-up for treatment advice.

The video was informative. The doctor didn't over-hype the use of Ocrevus for PPMS, saying there was a modest effect overall.

He indicated that after interpretation of the results of the trial, certain patients might benefit more than others from treatment with Ocrevus. I wish he would have elaborated more on that.

"Most likely to be effective in patients with recent active inflammation/new lesions" (shown at the 5:50 mark on video).

I have a feeling that Ocrevus probably only benefits those who have relapses/inflammatory lesions, just like the other DMT's.

I have the the type of PPMS that has slow steady progression and no relapses/active inflammatory lesions.

I have been fortunate in that I have had many plateau periods over the years (where I am stable for many months at a time) without a DMT.
