    New and totally feeling unsure

I am new here and to MS. I had an MRI about a year and a half ago because I was having symptoms already then of MS. The Neuros had given me a complete BS diagnosis of my MRI and said that nothing was found on it. I have been fighting with doctors for 2 years with daily migraines and growing pain that started mostly in my arms that is now full body. I have many of the MS symptoms and have been tested for everything else twice and nothing comes back. I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia last year but I felt that there is more to this. I have severe neck and back issues as well but the MRI of my lower back shows only a minor herniation. The doctors refuse to look at my neck again and won't look at my thoracic region. I saw a new doctor ( 5th or 6th? maybe more in 2 years) almost 2 weeks ago and he had looked at my file because I have seen so many doctors and was looking to see if I was a drug seeker. He noticed that on the MRI that I had a year and a half ago there was some demyelenation and vasculitis in the brain on that scan that they didnt tell me about and that it should have been followed up on. He ordered another MRI of my brain and I had it done on Wednesday. I don't know for sure if I have MS yet but I will be hopefully getting some answers. I went to my PCP for a heart issue this last Thursday and she peaked at the results and it said it was "stable". I guess I will find out more at my results appointment.

Hi and welcome! Sorry to hear what brings you here, but hopefully this new neuro will start on the path of finding some answers. I know it must be frustrating- many of us have had long waits too. MS is sometimes difficult to diagnose and they need to rule out many other conditions that mimic MS. What kind of symptoms are you having?

Is this new neuro a MS specialist? I always advocate for finding one when others just scratch their heads. Once I had a general neuro tell me "Gee I don;t know what it is? Do you know?" Not kidding! I fired him immediately.

I hope you can get to the bottom of all your problems. Check back with us and let us know what you find out. Take care!

Welcome to the forum rtconant1. I hope you get some answers soon too as well. You know, even a minor disk herniation, no matter how minor it is, can cause severe pain. It's literally disk tissue leaking out. That's not supposed to happen. The spine is a strong, yet at the same time, a delicate thing indeed.

Demyelination and vasculitis? Yikes. I would ask for copies of your medical records so you can see what is going on with the MRI along with the doctors. That way you don't feel like you're in the dark about much.
