    At full retirement age, your disability benefit would convert to retirement benefits. The amount paid is the disability benefit, plus any additional cost of living adjustments granted between now and the full retirement date. The retirement figure given by the SSA anticipates continued earnings at your current level, and therefore overstates the benefit a person would receive if their earnings stop/drop due to disability.
