    Officially diagnosed

    Hey all!

I was officially diagnosed with MS on June 7th after my CSF came back positive for O-bands and elevated IgG index.

I feel pretty lucky (in a weird sort of way) because I was diagnosed fairly quickly. I started experiencing Lhermitte's sign in October 2015 and that started my road to diagnosis. My previous neuro diagnosed me with a pinched nerve in my lumbar spine after an EMG, but also wanted me to have MR of my brain, which showed a lesion that she initially said was concerning, then backpedaled.

I had the foresight to get a second opinion because I wanted to be sure either way, and the specialist pretty much diagnosed me with CIS just by my description. Of course, after he saw the lesion, he said it looked pretty classic, so he ordered the LP and VEP.

Anywho...I started Copaxone last Tuesday. So far, so good. Did my 3rd shot this morning on my thigh and I think I did it a little too close to my knee.

I'm scared as hell of the immediate post reaction, but just taking it one shot at a time.

Looking forward to getting to know everyone here and finding support from those who understand!

    Hi timnl25,

Sorry to hear you received a diagnosis of MS, but welcome to MSWorld

Did either one of your Neurologist do a MRI of the Cervical spine? Lhermittes sign, when related to MS is caused by a lesion(s) on the cervical spinal cord. Brain lesions do not cause Lhermittes sign.

    Best wishes on Copaxone
