Hi all,
Just a reminder that if you are taking biotin as a supplement for progressive MS it can cause the thyroid blood tests to show hyperthyroidism. I noticed a posting on this web site, reading it then showed the surgeon and that prevented me from having an unnecessary thyroidectomy (1 day before surgery). This side effect does not appear to be well known outside of the US. I stopped taking Biotin and all the thyroid tests returned to normal.
Biotin appeared to affect TSH<.01L as well as the TS3 >100K & TS4 17.1. I am now retaking Biotin why they try to replicate the abnormal readings.Has anyone else had abnormal TSH TS3 & 4 readings on Biotin?
Thanks
