    Tuxedo Mushroom Burgers

    Ingredients
    8 ounces fresh mushrooms, sliced
    Butter or margarine
    2 cloves garlic, pressed
    2 teaspoons leaf oregano
    Salt and pepper to taste
    1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
    2 pounds ground beef

    Directions
    1 In skillet, saute' mushrooms in butter with garlic, 1 teaspoon oregano, and salt and pepper until just tender.
    2 Remove from heat; stir in Parmesan cheese.
    3 Keep warm.
    4 Season beef with remaining 1 teaspoon oregano and salt and pepper.
    5 From into 4 to 6 equal balls.
    6 Make a large depression in each; fill cavities with half of saute'ed mushrooms, dividing equally.
    7 Bring beef up around mushrooms to enclose; press gently to form into patties.
    8 Broil or grill to desired doneness.
    9 Top with remaining saute'ed mushrooms.

    MAKES 4 to 6 servings
