    Autism Spectrum Disorder + MS

I have RRMS and I am autistic. I am wondering if any others here have both conditions. I've Googled their comorbidity but have only turned up results regarding both occurring within families (ie: a mom has MS and her daughter has autism).

If there are any others like me reading this and are open to discussing it, please reply. I have questions to ask. Even if you know of someone else with both MS and ASD I'd be interested in knowing that, if only to know I'm not alone.

    Thanks.
    Holly

Hi Holly, I don't have Autism, my daughter does (we are not blood related) so I have no helpful information. I just want you to know that I am thinking of you and hoping that someone comes along that has answers to your questions.

The way I understand it people with ASD seem more likely to have some autoimmune disorders which also seem to run in families. In the study I'm aware of it indicated Schizophrenia, IBD and Type 1 diabetes were the most common autoimmune disorder comorbidities in patients with ASD.
