Ingredients
2 cups dry navy beans
Meat seasoning {ham, bacon, etc.}
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 onion diced
Salt and pepper to taste
1/2 teaspoon liquid smoke
Directions
1 Soak navy beans in lukewarm water 3 hours.
2 In large soup pot, bring to boil.
3 Add soda and let boil 2 minutes longer.
4 Drain off water.
5 Cover with hot water; add meat, onion, salt, and pepper.
6 Cook 2 hours or until tender.
7 Add liquid smoke; cook 10 minutes longer.
