SPASMS - ANYONE KNOW ABOUT HOMEOPATHIC REMEDIES OR SUPPLEMENTS?

    Hi there,

I was originally diagnosed in 2000 with 2 episodes back to back - have been totally fine til now that I am experiencing muscle spams in my hands, legs and feet (not every day)

I am not on any meds. I see my MS specialist yearly and he is happy with my progress.

I told him this month about my spams and he said that unless they are really really bad and everyday, that I shld not go on meds bc there are side effects that cause lots of weight gain.

I really do not wanna go the route of meds - however do not know what my future holds and may have to eventually... I like to use Homeopathic and supplements - so if any one is aware on what is helping them with spasms, please let me know, I would really appreciate it!

I do keep a positive mind set and try and stay healthy in diet and exercise most of the time.

I would appreciate any help you can offer.

    Thank you, ziarosey

I use quite a few supplements. Not instead if DMDs but in addition to them. I truly believe that Copaxone helps me manage my MS, but I also suspect that the supplements help too. If I had to choose one or the other, I would not give up meds.

I don't have spasms, so I can't recommend anything for them.

    Symptoms began in JAN02
    - Dx with RRMS in OCT03, following 21 months of limbo, ruling out lots of other dx, and some "probable stroke" and "probable CNS" dx for awhile.
    - In 2008, I was back in limbo briefly, then re-dx w/ MS: JUL08
    .

    - Betaseron NOV03-AUG08; Copaxone20 SEPT08-APR15; Copaxone40 APR15-present
    - Began receiving SSDI / LTD NOV08. Not employed. I volunteer in my church and community.

      Supplementing for spasms

I have been supplementing with with magnesium, mostly topical the last 8-9 months, successfully for daily spasms as the baclofen didn't seem to be fully effective for me.

I use Magnesium and baclofen if they are really bad. Magnesium tends to upset my stomach the next day, so I use it rarely.
