Spasms - anybody use Homeopathic and Supplements?

    Hi there,

I was originally diagnosed in 2000 with 2 episodes back to back - have been totally fine til now that I am experiencing muscle spams in my hands, legs and feet (not every day)

I am not on any meds. I see my MS specialist yearly and he is happy with my progress.

I told him this month about my spams and he said that unless they are really really bad and everyday, that I shld not go on meds bc there are side effects that cause lots of weight gain.

I really do not wanna go the route of meds - however do not know what my future holds and may have to eventually... I like to use Homeopathic and supplements - so if any one is aware on what is helping them with spasms, please let me know, I would really appreciate it!

I do keep a positive mind set and try and stay healthy in diet and exercise most of the time.

I would appreciate any help you can offer.

    Thank you, ziarosey

Hi Ziarosey! Yes, I take supplements to ease the "lesser" spasms. Found that a combination of L-Tryptophan, St. John's Wort, and Valerian Root work synergistically (and the combo has been ok'd by my dr) to lessen the spasms. Sometimes I add Feverfew, but it is a supplement that needs to be taken on a regular basis and is not for acute pain necessarily. Caution: the above-mentioned cocktail can cause in some people a little drowsiness; I'd start with the minimum dose and confirm with my dr that none are contraindicated with ongoing Rx. Hope this helps.
