    Hot 'N' Spicy Chunky Beef Chili

    Ingredients
    2-1/4 pounds beef chuck, cut in 3/4-inch pieces
    1 cup chopped onion
    2 cloves garlic, minced
    2 Tablespoons oil
    1 teaspoon salt
    1 28-ounce can tomatoes, cut up
    1 cup water
    1 6-ounce can tomato paste
    3 Tablespoons chili powder
    1 teaspoon oregano
    1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper pods

    Directions
    1 Brown beef with onion and garlic in oil in large frying pan OR Dutch oven.
    2 Pour off drippings.
    3 Sprinkle salt over beef.
    4 Add tomatoes, water, tomato paste, chili powder, oregano, and crushed red pepper.
    5 Cover tightly and simmer 1-1/2 hours OR until beef is tender.

    MAKES 8 servings
