    Does Primidone cause delerium?

If you look on Gerenal questions you can see you the thread UTI going crazy. It describes what happened. Now my doctors are trying to take away the Primidone. It's helped tremendously for my tremors.

I don't want to give up the medications that are helping my symptoms.

Can this medication cause manic paranoid behavior?

I'm sorry you've been feeling bad, palmtree. What you described in your other post sounded so scary!!

I looked up Primidone's side affects and it does cause confusion but no mention of delirium http://www.drugs.com/sfx/primidone-side-effects.html.

What I did find is that an UTI can cause this (which makes sense)

    Relationship Between UTI and Delirium

The body tries to maintain a state of equilibrium involving all of its processes. When it does succeed in keeping things balanced, the body runs smoothly. Microbes like bacteria take advantage of any weakened area of the body and multiply by feeding off the body’s nutrients, which they find in the bodily fluids. These include many minerals such sodium, potassium, calcium, phosphorus and magnesium. In the body, we call these minerals electrolytes. The disturbance of electrolytes reaches the brain and causes the malfunction known as delirium.

I hope you are finding something to keep your uti's away - forever!

Thank you for confirming what I think, too. I'm loading up on every UTI prevention remedy I can find. Cranberry extract, D-Mannose, and prophylactic antibiotics. Drinking lots of water to flush it out and crossing my fingers.
