    CVS/Caremark Drop MS Medications

    CVS/Caremark has dropped some medications from their "covered" list to try & steer you to cheaper medications. Some of them are MS meds like Avonex & Plegridy. See list below:

    Abilify (antipsychotic)
    Amitiza (irritable bowel disease)
    Avonex (multiple sclerosis)
    Bydureon (diabetes)
    Carac (dermatology)
    Cardizem, including Cardizem CD, Cardizem LA and its generic (high blood pressure)
    Clobetasol spray (dermatology)
    Clobex spray (dermatology)
    Cymbalta (depression)
    Diovan (high blood pressure)
    Exforge, including Exforge HCT (high blood pressure)
    Extavia (multiple sclerosis)
    Fluorouracil cream 0.5% (dermatology)
    Fortesta (testosterone replacement)
    Fosrenol (kidney disease)
    Incruse Ellipta (Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease)
    Intuniv (ADHD)
    Invokameet (diabetes)
    Invokana (diabetes)
    Matzim LA (high blood pressure)
    Monovisc (monovisc)
    Noritate (dermatology)
    Plegridy (multiple sclerosis)
    Qsymia (anti-obesity)
    Relistor (gastrointestinal)
    Valcyte (anti-infective)
    Viagra (erectile dysfunction)

    Do you use CVS pharmacy for your Rx?

      I saw he posted it as well, I think I had posted mine just a few minutes prior.

      No, fortunately I do not use CVS. You can still get your scripts filled through them but if you have them as your insurance provider, they will no longer pay. I used Avonex & then switched to Plegridy. It angers me that these companies make these decisions based purely on money. As if it's a simple medicine where using another option is really easy & works the same. What worries me is that other insurance groups could follow.
