Hello All,
I have been lingering around these boards for way too long. I just wanted to throw this out there for those in limbo who may have a similar symptoms to MS but have so many that it is hard to differentiate. I have been searching the web because like most doctors they drive us crazy ... lol.
I recently ran across another illness which may apply to some of you. Have you ever heard of Ankylosing Spondylitis (AS)? It can cause some similar symptoms to MS.
I just recently got ruled out for that one. You can get more info here: http://www.spondylitis.org/about/overview.aspx
AS is related to several other conditions but doesn't necessarily mean you have them such as psoriatic arthritis and others.
What makes AS different? All your blood work can come back NORMAL! ESR, RA tests, etc.
There is also a juvenile form of it. To be tested you can get an x-ray of sacroiliac joints (just below hip area) and a specific blood test. Doctors normally do not xray this area often and AS is often under diagnosed because of this.
Check the website out for all the symptoms etc. I hope you all find this useful and get relief sooner than later. Good luck!
