    Quitting Fampyra

Has anyone quit Fampyra and had good results? I've been on it for over a year, and this morning I woke up at 6 am (Fampyra time) and my legs felt pretty good. I took it and went back to bed (day off work). I got up at 8 am and my god my legs were stiff! I'm thinking of stopping it for a few days to see if I really need it at all. One less med would be great.

I have had excellent results. I have had a lapse between med refills and have found that it does make a difference if I don't take it.

Are you taking a muscle relaxer also (like Baclofen)? The stiffness may not be due to the Fampyra not working.

I have found when my current dose of Baclofen (when I am really stiff for several days) is not working, adjusting it upwards does the trick. Of course I have to notify my specialist when I do that.

You know what, R Coleman, I've had excellent results too. When I wrote this message I was in one of my wanting to "shake things up and just cure myself" moods. I get like that sometimes and want to stop taking all meds and be free of it, but then I don't, because I remember what it was like before the medication.

Thanks for your reply though And I used to take Baclofen and it did reduce spasticity, but even a super low dose made my leg muscles weak, so I tapered down from my 20mg slowly and stopped altogether. I'm more stiff now, yes, but I have control. It's really the Botox injections that work in my case.
