    How often should Vitamin D levels be checked?

    This interview between Ashley, our MSW volunteer, speaks with Dr. Jack Burks at the CMSC (Consortium of MS Centers) conference last week about the importance of having your Vitamin D levels checked!

    Helpful info. I asked to have mine checked at a recent appt and am awaiting results.

    He says every MS patient should have their Vitamin D level checked. He recommends that our Vitamin D level is at 70 or above, and is very happy with 85. He recommends more frequent checks if level is below.

    Symptoms began in JAN02
    - Dx with RRMS in OCT03, following 21 months of limbo, ruling out lots of other dx, and some "probable stroke" and "probable CNS" dx for awhile.
    - In 2008, I was back in limbo briefly, then re-dx w/ MS: JUL08
    .

    - Betaseron NOV03-AUG08; Copaxone20 SEPT08-APR15; Copaxone40 APR15-present
    - Began receiving SSDI / LTD NOV08. Not employed. I volunteer in my church and community.
