if you go to top right and type in search box 'vocal cords' you'll find several threads going back to 2011 on various vocal problems.
personally, i had a shrunken vocal cord several yrs back that kept me from speaking for 6 mos.

it was awful! an ENT after SSDI required speech therapy, injected gel into that cord and i am able to speak, sing, etc normally. only leftover is the aspirating liquids. i have to add 'thick it' to any liquid drink and no soda at all. otherwise it ends up in my lungs.
