Couples therapy with a disability specialist?

    Hello all.

I was diagnosed almost 20 years ago and have been in a very slowly progressive state ever since. Never had typical relapses. Secondary progressive at this point, I suppose. I'm very active and work full time, but dependent on a wheelchair for the last few years.

Married about six years to a wonderful man, but there are many stresses on our relationship, not the least of which is difficulties with physical intimacy. I have a lot of discomfort, and every type of spasticity known to MS (stiffness, repetitive movements, cramping) mostly in my legs.

We also have had personal trauma in the past few years, involving a teenage child.

    Communication is strained...

All this in preparation of asking this: Does anyone have recommendations of a therapist for couples, who has experience dealing with physically disabled clients? And in the New York City or north Jersey area?

Thanks in advance for any responses! I haven't been on these forums for a while, but just coming back has therapeutic value. It's a step in the right direction.
