New neuro doesn't think I have Primary Progressive

I just had my first consult with an MS specialist. He suggested that I begin to take one of the oral meds. He also had many different ideas about treating me. I have a lot of confidence in this doctor. I didn't have much confidence in my previous neurologists. I am hoping to see some positive changes.

I'm quite curious. How did this new Dr. arrive at a prognosis so very different from your previous Dr.s? And I'm assuming that by oral meds the new Dr. is suggesting Tec?

I am glad you have another opinion to consider. Hopefully, your prognosis will improve with treatment. Many times doctors simply rubber stamp the work of previous physicians. I am glad this one is performing their own assessments.

Temagami, my new neuro is Dr. Donald McCarren . I read that he treats over 100 MS patients I am trusting that his experience and very thorough examination is the basis of his diagnosis. Either way, his opinion is that I should be on a DMD and I am going to try Tec. I hope to see some positive changes. My previous neurologist did no testing and he ordered 1 MRI in the past 3 years. I did the MRI and he didn't review it with me. He had little experience with MS. So I had to find a new neuro. Simple as that.
