    Burning in hands

This seems crazy, but I was chopping up jalapenos last night (I will never do that again) for a recipe and a few hours later my fingers were burning and it has lasted for 24 hours, even after washing my hands and taking a shower. I'm wondering why this burning sensation has lasted so long. Is it strictly from a chemical in the hot peppers, is it MS or is it a combination? I normally have numbness in my fingertips. Has anyone ever had a reaction like this?

    BURN

Seems like it finger tips touched the seeds and ribs of the jalapenos...that's the hot part....it can cause a burning sensation in ur fingers....I have been having numbness in my finger tips and face as well...

I had the same response several years ago after I made some salsa to can for use in chili and such. But being the kluz that I am I also manged to get it on my face.

Since then I use gloves when handling peppers and am VERY careful of what I touch while I have the gloves on.
And as DOLPHIN15 said avoid the seeds and ribs when cutting them up.
