    blood pressure

We're you extremely anxious at that appointment? I get white coat syndrome at the Neuro's office. What did they say about the high blood pressure there?

I would keep records. I have labile bp as well but tend to be more hypertensive so I am on medication. However last week my oressure dropped to 86/70 but typically it's borderline to high.
Suspected MS 1985. dx 1994 still RRMS EDSS 1.0

I was having abnormally high blood pressure and it wasn't just in the doc's office. I could feel it coming on. So I was referred to a blood pressure specialist and he ordered a 24 hour bp test. It's like a Holter monitor test, except there's a bp cuff on your arm. It takes your bp at regular intervals and also during the night so they have a better picture.

I had very high spikes even during the night while I was sleeping (210/110). So after trying a couple different bp meds we settled on one that I could use prophylactically, and also take extra during an episode of the spiking bp.

When my heart rate started "joining in the fun" and I was diagnosed withi a tachycardia issue...they added a beta blocker, and I must say the combination of the two work well. And it keeps me out of the ER because my GP used to send me to the ER when my BP would spike, or my heart rate was erratic...now I just pop extra BP pill/arrythmia pill and wait for them to kick in, if they don't, then I go to the ER.

Both issues were linked to my MS, a strategic lesion in my medulla seems to be the culprit. See if you can get your doctor or a specialist to order the 24 hour bp monitor...it will tell you the real story.

After 21 years living with MS, this year has been weird. I normally run 60 to 70 over 100 to 110. In Jan. I started running about 90 over 150. No reason. It's back down to about 68 over 120.

                MS and BP

Several years after being diagnosed I began having strange episodes of high BP and racing pulse. After many many trial and errors of meds and many tests it has been determined that is due to MS. A lesion somewhere affecting control center for BP.

It was very frustrating until we found the right med. Now I take Tiazac daily and everything thing is fine.

                Hope you find some answers.
