Hi all,
I am on Betaseron and considering switching to Gilenya for the simple reason of not having to do an injection every other day. I have had no progression of symptoms and have had good MRIs.
1) I have been reading about this JC Virus. Is this something that only becomes "active" with certain drugs? is Betaseron and/or Gilenya one of the drugs you have to be pretested for the JC Virus and antibodies before starting?
2)also, any one out there switch off a betaseron JUST for the reason of not having to do an injection (ie you weren't getting worse; you didn't have any side effects from the Beta)
