    Breasts!

Been having sharp shooting pains going through one of my breast. Has anyone had anything like that happen to them. It's really an annoying pain! Had a mammogram and all is good with that. MS is all I can think of as a cause then. Any help would be much appreciated.

    Hi kazoo,

Have you talked to your GYN about this? It might be associated with hormonal fluctuations.

So sorry this has happened to you.

I woke up one morning screaming in agony that my ribs had jaggedly, sharply broken and were also stabbing into my breast tissue. My MS specialist said the horrific pain, which lasted a week, was because my intercostal muscles (located between each rib that hold the rib cage together) were in spasm--it's a symptom of the MS Hug. My MRI showed new, active lesions at my T5 - T7 thoracic levels.

Call your neuro and ask if this could be from your intercostal muscles being affected by your MS. Perhaps a cervical and thoracic MRI are in order; steroids might also help.

      Best wishes.

I have one particular spot where this tends to happen and my neuro also said it was probably intercostal muscle spasms. I've got a few fflexoril on hand for those times when the spasms just won't quit.

I can handle heat sometimes and that does help. I do a heating pad or bath.
