    Chronic Uveitis anyone?

Has anyone else been diagnosed with chronic uveitis due to MS? I've been to countless doctors (neuros, eye, rheumatologist) over the past two years of dealing with this and everyone has their own opinion to whether or not this is from MS.

I've had numerous blood tests for the diseases that can cause CU and they all come back normal.

The latest eye doctor told me that it most assuredly is from MS, it's just really rare (lucky me).

So I guess my main question is... am I all alone in this or have others here had similar problems.

Thanks for any help or advice

    Yes, I do!

    Muffkin,

    I have it! Chronic, too!

They can't tell me if it is related to the MS but I am positive it is. I read research studies on Uveitis. It is one of those rare things that is definitely connected to MS; a highly under recognized eye disease related to MS.

        Chronic Uveitis

I am newly diagnosed with RRMS after suffering with
Uveitis since 1995. My journey with MS actually began in 1986 when I had optic neuritis. Seven years later I had my first MS attack, although the doctors diagnosed meme with fibromyalgia and then mixed connective tissue disease. I've had years of crazy symptoms, with my eyes being some of the worst. Still on sterile drop to control the flares. The doctors never thought to do an MRI until last summer when I developed hearing loss in my right ear. The MRI showed MS lesions. I also had a lumbar puncture and VEP, both being positive for MS. THIS IS A CRAZY DISEASE!

          Uveitis

I was actually diagnosed with uveitis before my MS. My ophthalmologist said about 33% of patients with uveitis also has MS. My suggestion would be to find a specialist who deals with inflammation of the eyes. I did steroids for about a year, then Cellcept for 20 months. I have been off meds for uveitis for about 2 1/2 years because she got it under control. I have been having awesome checkups since.

            Uveitis

I also have Uveitis, started 3 years ago. It comes and goes only in my left eye. My floaters are very big and my eye socket hurts like a migraine for the first couple days. I am tired of going to the Dr. so I think this episode, I will wait to see if it goes away on its own.
limbo land for 1 year and 4 months DX February 2012 Copaxon February 2012 for 6 months. No DMD's since.

Waiting isn't a good idea. The uveitis may resolve on its own, but the untreated inflammation can do permanent damage to the inside of the eye. Then, to try to save your vision, you'll be seeing the doctor more because of damage that could have been prevented.
