    Anyone try Nuvigil?

I was just given an rx for Nuvigil to hopefully wake me up again. I'm on day 3 and I'm just as tired as I always am. I didn't even think to ask though, is this a drug that should work instantly or do you need to give it a little time before it starts working? I assumed it should work instantly, but I'm not feeling any better at all so far. Also, for those who would know, how long should I give it a try before giving up? I've got a 2 week sample and I'll be getting a 30 day supply on top of that tomorrow, so I've got 6 weeks worth of meds to work with.

I know some that have responded well to Nuvigil. Nothing has worked for my fatigue except for my current DMD.

Provigil worked for a couple days and then stopped. Nuvigil messed with my thought clarity but my disclaimer is manu medications do that amandine was the worse.

It's now day 4 and I feel like Nuvigil is giving me some kind of brain fog. I've been doing some really stupid things and not realizing until way later. Not sure if it is the Nuvigil or if I'm just trying to blame it though. I've also been feeling like I'm almost to the point where I'm going to get dizzy, although not a full blown dizzy feeling. That's been having me worried about doing things for the past two days, so I'm almost positive that is the Nuvigil.

I'm definitely not feeling any better. I'm still just as tired as if I hadn't taken anything at all, only I find that I can't even nap during the day if I try, so that causes me to feel even worse. Overall, I guess that means I'm feeling slightly worse than when I wasn't taking anything at all. Is it too soon to call it quits?

        I take Nuvigil ....

I find it works best if I take it on an empty stomach , first thing when I get up in the morning.
It does sometime give me a dull headache , so I take Tylenol.
Nuvigil works great for me , clears the fog , lets me concentrate at work ... & helps with the fatigue.

I take 150 mg., but there is a stronger dosage; you might want to ask your doctor if you could try the higher dosage.

          Good Luck.

After taking Nuvigil for about 1 week I noticed I was falling a lot! I wondered what I was doing differently and Nuvigil was the only different thing. I stopped taking it and I stopped falling. I told my doctor and she prescribed Adderol. I didn't fill it, when I decided to take it, the prescription expired. Not sure if I want to take it, I can handle the fatigue for now but it gets real bad sometimes.

Diet seems to be the best fatigue lifter for me. I am on a modified dash diet. Been surprising easy to follow.

Start day with green smoothie or fruit smoothie with powdered oatmeal

              Snack nuts

Salad lunch or tuna on whole grain 3 days a week

              Snack fruit or lowfat yogurt

              Standard dinner

                Provigil vs nuvigil

I was on Provigil for years, and it was fantastic until nuvigil came out. The insurance dropped it, and so did NORD coverage. Getting in to see my specialist is difficult, and I do respond well to nuvigil. Hopefully soon I will be back on it! Keep taking it, if it doesn't help, ask for Provigil. It is amazing, and I had no side effects that were noteworthy! But it is over $700 if you have no coverage! So be careful!

Since the Nuvigil didn't work for me, my dr gave me a 30 day supply of Provigil to try. I started it yesterday and at least for that one day, it was a miracle drug! I also noticed I got up better this morning. This one definitely looks promising so I hope my insurance will pay for it.

I took Provigil for a few months, upping the dosage every few weeks... unfortunately I developed a tolerance quickly.. When it works it great. Same for the Nuvigil

I took nuvigil but had to get off it after two month. it gave me severe migraines that have never gone away and now I deal with debilitating migraines everyday .
