12 Cranial Nerves. . .of Christmas

I find cranial nerves interesting, how they work, what they do, how they effect us MSers with Brainstem lesions - I also find its a little tricky to remember what all 12 pairs do.

In this video, Professor Hope at the University of Nottingham demonstrates to his Neurology students - a method that will help us all remember the 12 cranial nerves. (This guy makes me want to go back to University).

    Enjoy.

The way they teach us to remember them in Anatomy and Physiology in both nursing and medical school is:

Oh Oh Oh To Touch And Feel A Girls Hyman And Vagina.

The A after feel stands for Auditory nerve.

We didn't forget the order or which nerves were in the cranial system! Only a man could come up with this, but hey, it works.

        we learned it with:

On Occasion Our Trusty Truck Acts Funny, Very Good Vehicle Any How

Maybe that's why I can't list them in order--I could never remember that complete saying :/ I need a better mnemonic device
