    Do meds cause incontinence

I wonder if any of the meds I take can cause negative effects on bladder or bowel function. I take baclofen, diazepam, and gabapentin. Do any of these have the potential to cause incontinence?

No Portia, they do not have the side effects of urinary incontinence. You should visit a urologist who can do urodynamic studies on you and determine why you are having this problem. It may be just your MS, but it may be other things. It is good to find out if you have a neurogenic bladder. There are things they can do to treat it.

    Good luck.

      Hi Portia,

      Baclofen can cause -

Frequent urge to urinate or uncontrolled urination

My neuro as well as the linked information says this is a rare side effect.

Both gabapentin and Baclofen can cause diarrhea and constipation.
