I haven't seen anything about this anywhere. All of a sudden my throat feels like it is contracting on its own over and over. It kind of hurts and if I swallow the process is slow and I feel it running down my throat (like a wave). Its almost like when you swallow something too big and it struggles to go down - only I hadn't swallowed anything. Does that sound ms related to anyone or just some other random problem. Its been going on for hours now.

Hi popie: what you have been experiencing could be esophageal dysmotility, or it could be another problem with your esophagus. You may want to talk with your neurologist about it first, and then get an appointment with a gastroenterologist to help find out what is wrong. They may do a swallowing study with contrast just to see how your esophagus is behaving. I am sorry you are having such a hard time. Do go ahead and call your neuro.
Take care and let us know how it goes, OK?
