My heel feels like it's got an electrical current running through it. Really disconcerting.

Do you take any medications? If you do your itching could be a side effect. A good source for checking medication side effects: https://medlineplus.gov/druginformation.html

Many things can cause itching. Even if you do receive a diagnosis of MS it's important you don't assume everything you experience is due to MS. It is possible that everything you are experiencing isn't due to MS, this is true even for those of us with a diagnosis.

This link will bring a better understanding about Pruritus (itch):

        I'm not on any medicine.
My scalp and ankles itch from psoriasis. It's a different itching feeling. All doctors I've talked to have said it's neurological. So I don't know right now.

If it is Neurological there are prescription medications that can be prescribed.

Gabapentin helped a little, not much. I no longer take.

If your Neurologist says your itching is neurological, prescribed Neurontin and you say it helped a little then why did you stop taking it?

If you were to be diagnosed with MS what are your expectations? Do you believe MS treatments would take care of your itching? If so you will be greatly disappointed.

I didn't like the side effects.

No, I don't think anything will help.
