    SSDI AND RETIREMENT BENEFITS

I have been on LTD from work April 2012 until June 2013 it was termed from my employer. I am eligible for my pension and thinking hard about doing it. I am collecting SSDI. My pension is much less than my SSDI and would help just like the LTD. My question is can you collect SSDI and Retirement pension? Do I report this to SSDI for any adjustments? Just want to know the right process. Thanks

I receive LTD, SSDI. My LTD is offset by my SSDI. I also collect two pensions and it does not have any effect on SSDI. The pensions are from prior employers.

Hello, ressa and melody60. In general, I do suggest that one checks with SSA regarding the interaction of pensions and SSDI benefits. For example, government worker's pensions may affect Social Security benefits. See this link from SSA's website: http://ssa-custhelp.ssa.gov/app/answ...curity-benefit.

Understandable, Ressa. You may wish to talk to SSA to find out about the possibility of any offset from the horse's mouth, so to speak. Best of luck to you.
