    I hate bras! All bras!

I have been plagued by the infamous MS hug for quite a while now. I feel it over various parts of my torso up to my chin/jaw, but it unfortunately seems to be especially focused on my bra band area. Sometimes it's difficult to take good, deep breaths because I'm so tight in my torso.

Wearing a bra just makes it that much worse. Unfortunately I am too large busted to be able to go without a bra or to get away with wearing a tank to hold in "the girls." I've tried a variety of different bras and have essentially settled on wearing bras that are too big, but those even bother me sometimes.

Anyone else hate bras as much as I do? I used to be glad to have a "good rack," but now I just hate it. Thanks for "listening" to me whine and rant.

    MOST MEN HATE BRAS 2!

YES-I can still remember back in the good old days
when I could still use all of my fingers and hands
that it was very difficult for me to unfasten those dang
    bra hooks

I can imagine the feeling of being under a constant squeeze by MS HUGS that never go away...
    so if I was a woman with ( o )( o ) big ones...
I would go bra-less and forget about the jiggle or sags

Be as comfy as you can be...why be a comformist?
MS'ers may not all walk-- but, we can still roll along-so lets rock-n-roll as a power mobility group I do have an extra scooter & Powerchair The cat or my caregiver won't ride with me so maybe you could?

Hi, I can kind of relate to what you are feeling. Although I don't have problems with the hug, a few years ago I had shingles and they broke out along the nerve path from my breastbone all around to my spine. Right where the bra fits. I could not wear anything for a long time and even years later, I still experience some pain and discomfort there. I have been wearing (most of the time) a Fruit of the Loom sports type bra that I just get at walmart. They are very soft and have enough stretch and structure that they hold things in place and offer a little bit of support. You could probably size up in these and get the loose fit that you are looking for and also do the job. Good luck and hope the hug leaves the premises very soon.

          Me too!

That is one of the 1st pieces of clothing to come off when I get home from work!

For me, my "hug" feels as though my bra is too tight so actually wearing a bra only makes the "hug" worse.

I may try a sports bra ... wish it was socially acceptable to go without

Why does M.S. Make us so hyper-aware of everything that touches our bodies? It is like having perma-shingles! I do wear the Genie Bra. It is a PIA to get on and off but the wearing of it in between isn't bad.

I'm so sorry. Bras made me REALLY miserable during pregnancy; I couldn't seem to find one that fit right and didn't cause pain around the band and in my back. I haven't experienced the MS hug (yet).

I'm wondering if something like the "ahh bra" might work better for you? It's not a ton of support (I'm a 32F/30G so I understand that need!) but may be more comfortable since it doesn't have a typical band. I have one that I use sometimes for sleep/lounging around the house and it's fairly comfortable.

Ihave this problem also. I finally discovered a solution that works for me, in the sewing department at Walmart. It is a bra extender strap. When it first became a problem, I only needed one; and now I need two on all of my bras. They are adjustable, and come in different sizes to accomodate different bras.

I don't know if my pain is caused by MS, because I do not have a diagnosis, but this other thing sometimes helps when the crushing feeling gets intense (but I still need the added bra straps). I stand in front of my husband, with my arms crossed over my chest, like a mummy. He then picks me up from behind, bending me backwards briefly. Sometimes it pops my back and releases some of the pressure. He has to remember to do this gently though, as it hurts if he moves in a sudden jerk motion. This helps the most when I have been hunched forward, as when I was spending hours filing paperwork at my last job.

Yup. I've got a huge rack and hate bras. I used to love my girls, but now what I wouldn't give to be flat-chested and run around braless.

I too hate bras. My ta-tas aren't that amazing to me. I think a 36c. I would be happy with a flat chest. I have always hated bras. Too confining. And than the "hug". No ma'aams.

I take them off in restaurants, the car, as soon as I get home. When I get uncomfortable..the bra comes off.

Did I mention that I absolutely hate bras?
I am a phenomenal woman; and still I rise.

                      Boo to Bras

Yep, you got another team mate. When I was working it always came off right after my shoes. Now that I'm not working I just use shapewear that has soft cups with a seam under the bustline to give it some "lift". However at 57 years old and a 38DD chest -- it only lifts far :-( Oh well, that's the least of my worries, I guess.

Now that I am a SAHM I love sports bras from walmart ahahah.

They cost about $15 for 3 pack, in different colors.
