    Rebif and Avonex

Is rebif and Avonex the same? I was on Rebif but caused my liver numbers to go up. I need to change and having an awful time deciding but just read where Avonex is the "same" as Rebif? So, Avonex is not an option for me then? What about Copaxone? As I mentioned in another post I can't go on an oral due to insurance. Have to try 3 injectables first.

Same exact med. Avonex is once a week into the muscle, and Rebif is three times a week subcutaneously. They have the same basic efficacy, statistically.

I answered your other post, but Copaxone is daily, but with a small needle. It's glatiramer acetate (did I spell that right?), not interferon.

Been on all three meds. Rebif and Avonex are the same med. However, Avonex is only 30mcg per week, vs 130+mcg per week. Your liver enzymes should not be as high...I would not think.

Personally, I would try Copaxone...and if that does not work tell your doc you are moving on to the Orals.
