    Personal hygene challenge; toe nails

How in the world do you do something that has become virtually impossible. After spending an exhausting hour wrestling with spasticity legs, uncooperative hands, and imbalance issues, I, once again, managed to trim my toe nails. I am exhausted and fear the next struggle.

This disease makes the once simple everyday tasks impossible. Dressing is another that comes to mind.

I now have someone else trim my toe nails. Just an FYI, they are softest and the easiest to trim after your shower. As far as the dressing, have you ever used a dressing stick?

Have you worked with an occupational therapist to find ways to make taking care of yourself easier? If not, your neurologist or GP can refer you to one. And sometimes it's just easier to let someone else do some things. A nice mani-pedi can be a great way to relax for an hour.

        Personal Hygiene Challenge - toenails

Hi, regarding your toenails - I have mine cut every 2 months by a Foot Specialist. He does very quick, professional yet friendly. He's here probably 15 minutes. I live alone (with help of aides). The doctor bills medicare. Anyway, even if you aren't eligible, that's the way I recommend. Good luck friend!
