    Utensils?

This is probably the silliest, but easiest to answer, question you've ever had here.

My husband had a spinal cord problem that left him with nerve damage, especially in his right arm. He can't rotate his forearm very far to the outside, so putting his palm up is impossible. He's right handed, naturally. Are their utensils that are shaped to make it easier for him to bring the food to his mouth?

    Thanks.

Not silly at all. I have a set of utensils I got from the MSAA accessibility/mobility tools program. They are perfect for when I am unable to rotate my wrist. The neck of the utensil bends, so it works for righty or lefty and for whatever angle you need. The white handled ones on the following page are similar to the ones I have, though I like the grip on mine better than the one here. Bigger and cushy. Just google "handicapped" , "adaptive" or "disability" utensils for more.

The dish on that page is also helpful. It helps scoop food back onto your utensil.

This link has the set of utensils I got free from the MSAA. Their programs are worth looking into, between their cooling vests, rollators and other goodies.
