I've been invited to participate in a research trial for the BICAMS (Brief International Cognitive Assessment for Multiple Sclerosis).
This initiative has come about from an International collective of MS specialists from the United States, Finland, the UK, Italy, Netherlands, France, Germany, Switzerland and Sweden.
My MS Clinic in Ottawa is considering implementing this as part of their MS evaluation process and so is participatin gin this study trial.
What they are doing is downsizing the larger scale Psycho-neurological assessment into a 10-15 minute mini evaluation that any clinic staff can conduct, by targeting known cognitive impairments noted in MS patients. My evaluation will be a round of 1.5 hours documented in two sessions 2 weeks apart.
Here is a link describing in more detail the objectives of the trials and a link to the BICAMS official website.
