    Nerve pains in legs

I'm 70 & diagnosed 6 years ago with RRMS although it's estimated I'd had it for years without correct diagnosis. My left hand numbness was thought to be carpal tunnel. Now my worst symptoms are shooting pains in my thighs when I stand up to walk after sitting. They usually go away after several steps and are sporadic in nature. My MS Dr. isn't sure if it's MS or something else. My PP says he doesn't think it comes from a pinched nerve in the spine. Anyone else experience these sharp, shooting electrical pains?

    Sorta

Not really the "pain" but have issues w/numb tingling feet & legs w/muscle spams.

    Good Luck, my friend.

      leg and feet pain

Hi there, Im 49 and I have the spasity with hot acching feet after sitting. My legs wont relax for a minute but after that the pain lessens . I noticed this all comes from not be mobile. The more I can move the better everything is. The problem is Im tired before I move so it makes me not want to move

Have you checked out polymalgia rheumatica?

Google it for info. I found another MSrasking about it under another thread and am investigating it for myself. I've been having symptoms like you are describing. I've been taking Gilenya, dxd 1996, RRMS. Would love to hear what you find out. Blessings on you!

I too have shooting pains in my legs. Sometimes when I put weight on a leg I get what feels like a lighting bolt of pain. Starts in one spot and spreads out like lighting. I also get just straight shooting pains as well.

I havent been diagnosed yet. MS Specialist is looking at MS or TM. I hope to find answers soon! I hope you find your answers too! Good luck!

            So it's not just me...

I was begining to think I was the only one who had electrical feeling pains in my legs. When I mention it to my doctors they just get an odd expression and say something about it must be coming from my nerves. It feels like a sharp shocking feeling that I get. The only thing I have found that helps is when my neuro prescribed Zanaflex (Tizanidine is the generic). It was supposed to be for my legs cramping, but it helped the shocks too. Unfortunately my insurance quit covering it and it is pretty expensive, so I'm back to just dealing with it again.

              Zanaflex

Just a note regarding title med. Tried it 9 years ago and had severe hallucinations. Must be rare side effect and I have never had a reaction to any drug before or after this. But it was very very weird. I had to assume it was the med and not another MS symptom. At the time had other extreme symptoms which could have been associated with the drug like the icons on my computer dancing.
