    Yet Another Limbo-Lander!

    Hi everyone,

I thought I would join and see perhaps if anyone else shares similar symptoms, thoughts, path to diagnosis etc.

Vitamin deficiencies, Lupus, Sjorens, Thyroid, Tumor, Stroke, fibromyalgia, RA, have all been eliminated. I'm currently awaiting an MRI on my brain and entire c-spine this Friday. My GP, Rheumy, and neuro all suspect MS.

I'm 25, and I've been experiencing heavy fatigue for quite some time now. I have pain that can radiate down the front of my shins, sharp/stabbing/electrical pains that can originate anywhere, tingling/numbness in feet, and legs (more so on one side than the other), memory issues, heat makes me feel way worse (especially a hot shower- my legs feel sooo bad!). I get burning/tight/the worst pain ever in the middle of abdomen that wraps around into my ribs and it will last hours-days. I have no idea on what causes it.

My legs are the biggest problem for me it seems, and especially my right one. I have an abnormal gait, and my right leg is so stiff and I almost swing it around through the step to be able to walk. I'm not sure if it's because I'm compensating in my walk, but my gluteus maximus is always so sore. My lower legs can feel so heavy at times, and going up a short flight of stairs can really make me feel like I just ran a marathon. I also get vibrations in my legs, they twitch and sometimes I feel like someone has poured some cold or hot water on one leg, when in reality there's nothing there.

My neuro has noticed that I have a decreased sense of sensation in my right side, I have pronators drift, lack of strength on right side (I'm right handed!) and lack of reflex in my right knee.

They all suspect MS, but I'm not sure...I'm hoping the MRI on Friday will provide some sort of guidance towards an answer...until then I guess I'm doing the limbo dance!

Has anyone else experienced similar symptoms at all? I hope you are all doing well, and having a great day!

      similarities?

      - fatigue
      - sensory issues (burning feet, crawling and biting sensations)
      - sometimes my gait is odd but not always. i hate stairs.
      - jolting and/or weakness in my legs (like sometimes they just kick or shake on their own and usually that's after i get pain in my toe or feel like my feet are burning or bitten)
      - the walking thing, usually i walk ok but over the years i've been more wobbly usually when i get up from a chair but sometimes i'm wobbly after i stand up and sometimes i'm wobbly when i'm sitting down (it does what it wants!)

i'm still in limbo land. i take it if they've tried everything else with you and the evidence says MS that's probably what they're going to find. sort of like that with me not dx for those other things but we tried lots of things for the feet (which is when I started to admit just how much crap i've been going through to current GP as opposed to pretending it was all in my head) and it turned up zilch and so...MRI!

p.s. if its all in my head it can still be MS cos that's where my brain lives :P sorry dark humour. good luck

        limbo - me too

As I do not have exactly the same symptoms I am in the waiting game as well...

Which i am finding mentally painful, wondering what is next, what to do and what not to do.

My event was more facial, half my face went numb...superfun! Landing me in the hospital for 5 days while everyone ruled out the easy stuff, and some other scary options.

I have had 2 MRI so far showing older lesions and then an active one in my upper spine.

I keep trying to have a sense of humor and try to get my "normal" life back day by day.

Just wanted to say I can relate, I am only 35 and freaked out how your life is changes so quickly and there is nothing you can do...kind of hard for a control freak!

Trying these message boards to communicate feelings and questions is helping vent.

I wish you all the luck and hope you get answers as fast as possible.

          Hi,

I'm almost 36 and in limbo, my previous MRI was abnormal but my neuro thinks it's from migraines. Going to see an MS specialist next week!
Funny thing is I never told Neuro #1 about the weird pain around my abdomen. It feels like a snake is squeezing me sooo tight...mine doesn't last days just about 7 hours..best thing to do is to lay down..the more I move the tighter it gets..from my belly up to my chest and around my back..it starts in lower back then creeps up to a point that I dont wanna move. I never told my neuro cause I didn't know it may be related until just recently ( I have had this for the last couple years, approx 3 times a year)

How long does your numbness last? I find that it causes weakness but after moving around it kinda goes away..but sometimes from my knees down I get a weird felling like my legs aren't as "alive" as they should be.

Nothing is ever constant except my dizziness

How long and how severe are you symtoms?

          Talk soon,
