    Anyone got skin blotches

Has anyone got skin blotches from taking Betaseron? I was on it for a few months and ever since then the skin on top of my arms is blotchy.

    Hi Shiela

got them all over..they do eventually go away if you don't use that area...you must be fair skinned like me, we react the worst..
I will 'put up' with my side effects because Betaseron works for me

    Goos luck Shiela

At the injection site, red welt-looking mark that may turn into a bruise - yes.

      General skin blotchy-ness - no.

Same here. I've been on Beta 2 months, and am very fair. my red blotches are a little bigger than a quarter, and I figure if I get enough of them, I'll look like I'm sunburned!

            It's NOT attractive, just sayin'.

              skin blotches at injection sites.

I was diagnosed with MS in August, been taking the injections approx 6 weeks. i do have a couple of quarter sized red, slightly bruised areas from the injections.
What has helped me is to massage the site for at least two minutes after my injection, then take a warmish, hot washcloth/compress and just lay it over injection site for a few minutes. this take a lil longer, but does help reduce the red blotches.

Ive been on Beta for 2 months now, and I do get the bright red skin blotches on my thighs, but they are not a quarter in size. I had an injection I massaged for longer than I usually do - the blotch that came up on that one about 3 inches in diameter
I will try the warm washcloth next. I dont know if Beta works for me as yet being I just completed the titration period, but if it does work, then I guess I will accept the blotching with open (and no longer weak) arms...
                I dont wear shorts anyway!

                  Blotches

I've been on Betaseron for 18 years. Blotches eventually fade some take longer than others. In my thigh seems to stay around longest. Even after all these years the itching bugs me the worst. Again I agree that the pain is worth the gain. I have only got one new lesion in 18 years!

God speed to all of you for a long heathy existence (as best as you can)

I always have had the blotches. especially on my legs. My stomach isn't so bad. My arms were the worst though because it looked like fingerprints. I was 16 almost 17 when I first started Betaseron so I got a good number of questions about my home situation when people saw my arms haha.

                      Blotches

I have been using Betaserone for about 2 months now and I have quarter size blotches where the injections have been given. The started out very red and now they are fading to bruise like marks. I still have a mark from my first injection.

Hi there, I am not on Betaseron but I do take Rebif and they are somewhat similar I think. I do get the red botches - I think they may be a little better than when I first started the med but I do get them every time. I have been on Rebif for about 4.5 years. My neuro told me since I am fair skinned, there is probably no way to avoid these.
