Casey - Science is no help in MS. There is conflicting data on diet and medications, so we have to go with what we feel is right.
Just like DMDs, Diet offers a promise of a better course of MS. Yet a good diet offers more than that. Avoiding heart disease, stroke and possibly cancer are known "additional" benefits.
of course, this is not going to be motivating for a 16yo. But sometimes someone so young can make a surprising commitment. I would still recommend you buy her Dr. Jelenik's' book. At a minimum, it will educate her and provide a positive model.
