    Okay, be honest :D

How many of you have used the diagnosis of MS to your personal advantage?

I will admit this, sometimes I can be a real brat and use it to avoid people - NOT because I care about them knowing that I have MS, far from it. I just don't want to be around certain people sometimes

On Sunday, I was invited to a birthday party for an acquaintance who has shown nothing but social awkwardness. And I actually do have a flare-up and my beautiful excuse was pre-created for me: "Sorry, can't make it, on steroids that suppress my immune system and somebody sneezing could kill me (insert false contriteness & regret here)." SUCCESS!

I've also used "Sorry, I can't hang out with you this weekend - I have MS."' I will ALWAYS have MS (unless somebody discovers a cure in my lifetime) and I probably don't have a flare-up. I just don't want to hang out SUCCESS!

To Have Or Not To Have....Hmmmm

I agree with you 100%. If you had a simple cold you would say, sorry I can't make it because I have this cold.

Nothing wrong with saying, my MS is acting-up so I will have to pass.

Hell there are not obcvious advantages to MS, so we may as well leverage it when we can.
