What options do I have for obtaining health insurance? I've been approved for SS disability, but have a long wait for Medicare coverage, and COBRA is unaffordable.

Your options are few, and the high deductable plans are the only ones available for 2012. Here is the website for Healthy NY. Call them--I found them to be very helpful-even though I didn't qualify. Also included the NYS Dept of Health website. You can access the county phone numbers fromthere. I ended up spending pension money to COBRA myself, but had no other option.
